A long week, kinda tired. The breadth of work this week is small, but the depth is impressive.

Organised a game night
Following the high from seeing my friends last week, I organised a game night and had fun with some closer (geographically) peeps. It was a great night, we played pandemic and lost every single time, within 2 rounds every time. Not an easy game lol. Definitely will be a recurring night. I also did a film night and watched Hellraiser. Absolutely disgusting, genuinely horrific torture, I thought it was excellent. I love horror films and it was a shock even to me. It gave me extended Event Horizon vibes, you know the one scene where it flashes with all the gore, Hellraiser was that one scene extended out to an entire film. Brilliant

Played a lot of games
Not really a goal but I’ve been kinda full throttle the last few weeks, especially with doing overtime since the start of the year, and this week I did less overtime so I can relax and catch my breath a bit. 50 hour weeks for 8 weeks is a lot for me. So, it was nice to take a bit of a break and relax with Minecraft and Helldivers. Don’t worry! I will finish RE1, I’m very close to finishing it.

Second Mind
This is the depth. I’ve been working on a note taking app with its primary function being a good Zettelkasten device. I had a basic (and messy) proof of concept a few weeks ago but I decided to start again with a sleeker UI and better code base. It was easier to start again than to rewrite what I already had. So far it -
Displays the directory tree of your projects
Shows an archive of your notes
Lets you view and edit your projects
Lets you view your notes as little cards on a 2D plane

It’s very basic but its basic functionality is nearly complete, and once it is, I can really start to add in the real features I want, which I won't go into right now. But for now, this really is my main focus for a bit. I’m also making it in Godot. I think there's definitely a better way to do it, but I want to learn godot too and so far I’m not finding anything too lacking. But I don’t mind keeping my options open for the future …
