An eventful first week!
Created February’s Goals
January was a gentle introduction into the year but now I’m looking to formalise my processes and to better hold myself accountable with these weekly roundups.
Put up my whiteboard
It’s incredible how having a physical and prominent board of everything you want to achieve actually serves to remind you to do them. The Live Laugh Love crowd are on to something …
Painted my office and replaced the outlets with nice brass ones
I immediately had to put my whiteboard back down to do this one but it’s already back up aha. I went with a darker green and the room looks gorgeous. It was a tiny office to begin with (my landlord described it as a 3rd bedroom, but for who? Jason Acuña?) and with the darker paint the room perhaps looks a little smaller but now the space that is there feels very well defined, whereas before with the whitewash it felt vaguely confining and suffocating. I love it, can’t wait to decorate. Also changing the plug sockets was a chore but worth it, the brass works really well.
Create application for work
I actually applied for the wrong job lol, the posting for my position isn’t up yet, but I'm not too phased because everything I wrote will still be applicable and it won’t take long to transfer it over, no set back at all!
Created a website
Very proud of this. Last time I tried to create a website I got so bogged down in creating something unique, and then sidetracked by the coding element of it, that I completely lost sight of the point of it - to upload my work. This time I found a website I really liked and adapted it to my own needs and in just a week everything is working perfectly.
Wrote up January’s Dungeon-a-Days
It was a great little creative exercise and helped me with some of Scale’s world building, definitely something I’ll come back to again when it comes to more world building.
Finished my first ever weekly round up
I pray this isn’t the only one I ever do, I’m really looking forward to #2020Thrive and these goals are really helping me get the wheels turning.
